In The Salvation Army, Officers serve as pastors of our church congregation, as well as administrators for the community-oriented ministries that happen within the facility
Majors Jonathan and Chrissy Cooper
Majors Jonathan and Chrissy Cooper have been officers in The Salvation Army for 16 years, faithfully serving in two corps appointments before dedicating their last seven years to youth and candidate ministry as Divisional Youth & Candidates Secretaries in the Eastern Michigan and Great Lakes Divisions.
They are proud parents of four children, ages 19, 15, 13, and 11. As a family, they value time together and encourage one another’s unique interests and talents – from motorcycles to theatre, lacrosse, and gaming.
Major Jonathan is a sixth-generation Salvationist from St. Louis, Missouri. Major Chrissy, an officers’ child whose family enjoyed a long-term appointment in Missouri, also calls the “Show Me” state home. They met as elementary-aged kids at camp. Their shared passion for ministry and deep-rooted love for kingdom-building have shaped their calling to serve and develop the next generation of leaders

Together, the Coopers bring a diverse experience, a deep commitment to The Salvation Army’s mission, and a heart for mentoring and empowering those they serve.
