The Greatest Need
These programs currently need the most support to ensure their success. Check below for even more ways to give back now and throughout the year. Any gift will make an impact in our community.
The Kroc Scholarship Financial Assistance Program
Every life deserves to shine. No one in need is turned away from the life-changing opportunities at The Salvation Army Kroc Center through the Kroc Scholarship Program. With an average of 1,500 individuals on scholarship, this is by far The Kroc Center’s largest outreach and single greatest need for community support.
The Salvation Army KETV 7 Can Help Kids Back To School Backpack Program
Send local kids back to school with pride! Along with Sponsors, Donors and generous community support, The Salvation Army stuffs brand new backpacks with pencils, paper, crayons and all the supplies needed for kids to feel great and be prepared for the first day of school.
Summer Camp
What kids take home from this camp won’t fit in a backpack! Camp Kroc Day Camps and Gene Eppley overnight camps (Bellevue, NE) provide everything a child needs to make great summer memories and learn that no matter what happens in life, they are cared for. Donations make it possible to send to camp the kids who couldn’t otherwise afford it, but need it the most!
Additional Giving Opportunities
Swimsuit Donations
The Kroc Center Needs Swimsuits for all ages! You can help by proving a new or gently used one piece swimsuits for girls and adult women and trunks for boys and adult men. Drop off donations or call 402-905-3591 to arrange a pick up.
Youth Alive & Boing Youth Groups
Our goal is to provide middle and high school youth with a warm meal and guide them in the Word of God. This ministry is possible because of donations for meal supplies and volunteers.
After-School Program
Students age 7 and older receive homework help Monday-Thursday, 4:00pm-6:30pm at no cost to members. Donations support cost of supplies.
Life Skill Classes
Low-cost educational classes are taught by Kroc staff and local community experts. Most are offered free of charge and include a variety of topics on health and wellness, financial planning and more.
Winter Night Watch
The Salvation Army’s Winter Night Watch program helps make cold winter nights more bearable for the homeless and near-homeless in Omaha. Two canteens patrol the streets of Omaha providing warm meals and winter clothing.
Class & Program Scholarships
These scholarship opportunities allow individuals and families to afford classes that help change unhealthy habits, build confidence, strengthen relationships, and promote wellness of the whole person.
